This little man was the perfect newborn model today. He was so sleepy I never even saw his eyes. But I did get to swoon over his perfect lips and irresistible cheeks…

And we even got big brother in on the action. He was quite perfect himself for being just shy of two and missing his nap he was nothing short of simply adorable!!!

Thanks for having me over today!

This little guy was wide awake for me when we got started. Although it is usually ideal for babies to be sleepy for a newborn session, it was a treat to get a few shots of his beautiful big blue eyes. This little guy is going to be a heart breaker. A big thank you to his mom and dad for having me over to capture their handsome baby boy.

Remember this little guy, well he is growing like a weed! I couldn’t believe how much he has stretched out his I saw him all brand new 3 months ago. He was so sweet and sleepy the day we met up.
Here he is not too sure about the whole photo shoot thing (the raised eyebrow makes me smile)…

These top 3 frames are all within seconds of each other, he really needed a little power nap and then seemed so content when we let him snuggle up and sleep. Posing a sleeping 3 month old isn’t always this easy.

And finally with the family dog. She wasn’t too sure that first time I was there when he was a newborn but here she is gentle as can be with her baby. I think they are going to be really good friends.

Little change of pace for me this afternoon- not a baby but I’ve known her since she was pretty much a baby so when she asked me to do some casual senior portraits for her I couldn’t say no. I had such fun with a subject that could actually take direction and didn’t run away from me. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE all the babies but this was a fun way to change things up. This might have to be the sneak peek part one. We bounced around to so many great locations I might need to post a few more later this week.

The peppers are not just a random pop of color, nope, they actually have significance. One of the things I remember most about this one from when she was little was that she would always come to class snacking on raw veggies and often it was peppers. Don’t see too many young kids snacking on bell peppers so when I see colorful peppers guess who it reminds me of…

Everyone says they grow so fast. With my own children I can attest to that cliche statement but with my baby planners it seems to happen even quicker. It always seems like I just saw them and then here they are 3 months later a little bigger, a little more full of personality and a whole cuter each and every time. I LOVE watching them grow it makes my job so fun and reminds how important it is to capture every inch of them before they change.

And finally the last shot of the evening, we were actually done and I came back to this spot that was just a little too bright when we started and this sweet little guy gave us this…

I have been meeting so many baby boys lately that it was fun to change it up today with this sweet (but feisty) baby girl. I had been in contact with her mommy for a few months so I was anxiously awaiting today. Here she is as dainty and sweet as any baby girl could ever be…

This sweet baby girl is one of my very first baby planners and I can’t believe that she is already past the 9 month mark and moving swiftly through her milestones. It hit me tonight in going through her session images to post this sneak peek just what a pleasure it is to capture a baby in that first year- they change so fast it really does need to be frozen in time in some way. The sweetest part from our meeting tonight was just watching her fascination with simple ordinary things like dirt, gravel and leaves… oh no wait, the best part was probably hearing her babble. (Sigh) I miss that… okay, before I get all sentimental about my own growing too fast here is the sweetheart I got to catch up with this evening…

Well almost 3 and and almost 3 months- both ages that can keep me on my toes. Little man was very serious today but so sweet and his big sister was awesome- I can’t believe how patient she was holding her brother such a sweetheart.

We had so much fun with this little man today. I feel like this 3 month age is the most challenging of all the baby stages to capture but this little guy proved that theory wrong- he was a rock star today, just a quick snack here and there and he has ready to keep on going. Thanks for visiting today!

San Jose newborn photographer • “so in love”

I was so happy to meet this family and their new bundle of pride and joy. I could tell just through my e-mail correspondence with mom that she had fallen madly in love with her new son and it was such a joy to see. Seeing new parents gush over their new baby is one of the greatest things in the world. I feel blessed and lucky to be able to catch a glimpse of this special love every time I photograph a new baby.

And a “surprise” shot of their other baby the handsome Mr Riley. I am kind of a sucker for labs being a lab owner myself so when the baby needed to eat and be changed I couldn’t help myself, I spent a little fun time with the family dog.
